Knicks Strive for Six Seed Tonight vs. Sixers
Having won their last four games, the Knicks have pulled within a half a game of the 6th place Philadelphia Sixers. Tonight, the Knicks head to Philly to play for the six seed. Even though I would love the Knicks to surpass the Sixers in the standings, let’s think ahead to the postseason. If the Knicks finish with the seven seed, they will take on the Heat in the first round. If they finish sixth, they will play the Celtics.
Personally, I would want the Knicks to play the Heat. Boston has more playoff experience than any other team in the East. They know how to win the big games, especially at home. The Heat, on the other hand, have put a ton of pressure on themselves. Having guaranteed a number of NBA Championships last summer, all eyes will be on how Miami reacts in the playoffs. Since the Carmelo deal, the Knicks have played up to their competition. Their best defensive performance of the season was at Miami when they held the Heat to 86 points. Plus if the Knicks beat Miami in the first round, it would be one of the best upsets in NBA history. How humiliating would it be for LeBron? Just thinking about this is getting me pumped for the playoffs.
So what do you guys think?
Remember the last time the Knicks played the Heat?
