5 BOROUGH SPORTS

First off, I am absolutely in shock that the Islanders just won on the road against one of the best teams in hockey, the Vancouver Canucks. Not only did they beat them, they DESTROYED them. And the man behind this beat down? My man Johnny T!!!! With two goals and three assists, Tavares tonight took another step to becoming a star. He almost single-handedly won this game for the Isles. This is also the first road win for the Islanders since January 9th. Wow! At least, this team is starting to click at the right time with seven points in the last four games. With the 8th seed still many points away, I am not going to worry about any playoffs this season. It is important, however, for this young team to finish strong. If the Isles end this year playing their best hockey, next season will look very promising.

Tonight Tavares scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season. Let’s look back at his first of his career back in October.
