The Rangers face off tonight against the Anaheim Ducks.  Last time these two teams met was in Sweden to kick-off the NHL season.  The Rangers lost 2-1 in overtime and looked very sloppy .  Tonight they are trying to build on their last win against San Jose.  Look for the rangers to come out strong and supplant their forecheck.  The Rangers need to find consistency in their game and winning two in a row would help their cause.

X Factor-  It starts with the captain Ryan Callahan.  If he is able to continue playing the way he did monday night the Rangers should not have a problem.  It is through his emotion that sets a tone for the rest of the team.  If he comes out strong the Rangers should be able to find a way to win.

The other key to the game is getting on the powerplay.  Unlike last season the Rangers powerplay is becoming successful.  They scored power play goals in their last two games and must find a way to capitalize on the power play tonight.  Once again the defense is also critical to the Rangers.  They need to take pressure of Lundqvist who has been struggling so far this season.  He needs to build his confidence and the defense has to be able to take some pressure off him.  If this does not happen Lundqvist could easily crumble.  As good as he is Lundqvist gives up easy goals if one goes in.  That is why it is necessary to  let him gain confidence tonight.  Overall, it should be an exciting game and the Garden will be rocking even if Avery is not in the starting lineup.
