Jeter is Batting .291…Still Think He’s Overrated?
Remember when the baseball world was complaining about how Derek Jeter was so overrated? Two months ago, almost every baseball writer in the country was bashing Jeter about how he was “washed up” and his offense was “atrocious.” Where are the shitty New York Post and Daily News journalists? Where are the Red Sox fans now?
For all of the Jeter-haters out there, here are some stats:
- Jeter is hitting .326 since his return from the Disabled List
- Derek is third in the majors with a .373 batting average against lefties this season
- Since his return from the DL, Jeter is batting .341 with RISP…Captain Clutch
- In his last 35 games, Jeter has 13 multi-hit games
So for all of those baseball “experts” who thought Jeter’s career was dwindling, you’re fuck’n wrong. According to these stats, it seems that Jeter is headed for a strong finish this season…sorry, truth hurts. With another win tonight, the Yanks continue to hold the best record in the American League. As for the Mets, the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers come into town for a three game series at Citi Field. In other news, Alex Rodriguez was back with the Yankees tonight after a six week stint on the DL with a torn meniscus in his right knee. So to welcome A-Rod back to the team, here’s an interview with him and Jeter from 1998:
