Knicks Clinch the Six Seed…Bring on Boston
With a Philadelphia loss tonight, the Knicks clinched the six seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. With a Heat win and a Celtics loss tonight, Miami clinched the two seed, resulting with Boston remaining as the three seed. This will be the first time the Knicks and Celtics match up in the playoffs since 1990 (where the Knicks would go on to win the series 3-2).
A couple of hours ago, I was talking to New York Nick about the playoffs. I told him that I don’t want to make any playoff predictions at all. The last thing I want to do is jinx the Knicks. This is their first playoff birth since 2003-2004 and I don’t want to ruin it for them, or for us fans. So here at the Borough, we will just them play. The outcome of this series is out of our control. All we can do is watch in full anxiety. As we wait for Game One this Saturday, let’s look back at the final seconds of Game Five of the 1990 1st Round series between the Knicks and Celtics.
