Jets Lose AFC Championship; Still An Impressive Run

In the NFL, it’s very difficult to reach the Conference Championship game in back-to-back seasons. As underdogs, the Jets have accomplished this while playing every game on the road. Even though they’ve fallen short in both championship games, this is still very impressive. To be honest, I’m not a fan of the Jets’ football philosophy. I don’t like teams that run their mouths during press conferences. I thought the Jets were classless last week when they were running and dancing all over Gillette Stadium after they beat the Pats. It’s hard for me to pull for teams that have this disrespectful swagger.

But this doesn’t mean I don’t respect the hell out of them. These players have responded to Rex Ryan’s coaching philosophy and it’s working like a charm. The Jets have had respectful 9-7 and 10-6 records in Ryan’s first two seasons, but it’s their postseason success that’s the most impressive. Ryan’s 4-2 postseason record shows he can prepare this team to win when it matters the most. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jets back in the AFC Championship next year playing in the Meadowlands.  Congrats to the Jets on other phenomenal season.
