Bracketology: January 22nd, 2011
Sorry for the delay, but here is Week Two of Bracketology on 5 Borough Sports.
This week we’ve seen powers Kansas and Duke fall from the ranks of the unbeatens, but both still remain one seeds. The Big East is staking claim to dominate this years tournament. 11 teams are currently projected to make it from the Big East, as most of the teams escaped the non-conference without any bad loses. While I am skeptical of some of the teams in the Big East, the fact is they aren’t going to be proven wrong unless they lose to the bottom feeders of the conference, which are truly bad. The scenario is perfect to get about 10 teams in, and it would be another record amount of bids for the conference.
This year, more than any other in recent memory, the difference between a team on the five seed line, and one that is just out, is startlingly small. In the end, it will come down to some of the very toughest decisions the selection committee has ever made. I expect a lot of movement in the coming weeks, and I’ll stay on top of it for you.
