Wrong Move Antrel

(Big Blue Nation) Rolle separates Coughlin the man from Coughlin the coach. The man, he enjoys. “On a personal level he’s one of the best guys you could be around,” Rolle said. “Very caring. Honest guy.” As a coach? “Honestly, that’s where the problem comes with me, as a coach. When you’re talking about the coaching side of things, do I feel like things are a little too uptight? Yeah, I do. If he just loosened up just a little bit, run the ship the way you want to run it, run the program the way you want to run it but let us have a little fun, because at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about. “He has to understand we have a great team, we don’t have guys with discipline problems. We’re going to pretty much handle our own outside of football. When it comes to football we’re going to take care of our business on the field. Just let us have a little fun a little bit, man. I like the coach, I understand what he’s trying to do but he has to understand it’s 2011, man, things have changed.”

So the Giants officially have a new Tiki Barber on the team. Just another player bad mouthing Coughlin who won’t survive with this franchise. Does Antrel Rolle know who he’s dealing with? Does he know what he got himself into? If I was Jerry Reese, I would get rid of this guy immediately. In the words of Bill Parcells, “I want players who want to be Giants.” Obviously Antrel doesn’t want to play for Coughlin, who has the same coaching philosophy as Parcells. When a player starts to bad mouth a coach in the NFL, history shows that it ends careers. Look at Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. Where are they now? Enjoying football purgatory in Cincinnati and Tennessee.

Now I know Rolle is a pro bowler this year, but he’s definitely replacable. It seems that he’s been a locker room cancer all season when calling out his players and coaching after the week 2 loss to the Colts. In Tiki Barber’s last year as a Giant, he was a pro bowler. Once he retired, the Giants won the Super Bowl. When a team is struggling, the last problem a team needs is a locker room cancer. Get rid of Antrel and then see if he’s going to complain about Coughlin. He would be begging to come back to the Giants, a team that gave him a huge contract when no one else wanted to pay him the money. He should be grateful to us. Maybe if we cut him, he will have a dream come true and sign with the Jets. But would Rex really want a safety who gets burned by every good wide receiver in the league? Didn’t think so.

So Antrel, you have two choices – you can shut your mouth, shave your childish mohawk and grow up…or get off this team for good. Your choice bro.

I didn’t know he had a mohawk. I love when he says having fun is what its all about, I always thought winning was.
