(ESPN) Wide receiver Mario Manningham was a surprise addition to the New York Giants’ injury report on Wednesday. According to the team, the wide receiver has a concussion. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Manningham will not practice and will undergo further testing to gauge his availability. Manningham underwent a test Wednesday morning before he was held out of practice. Manningham told the Giants of his injury after Sunday’s loss to the Titans. Coughlin was surprised by Manningham’s revelation, which puts his status for Sunday night’s home game against the Chicago Bears in doubt. “He really appeared to be fine Monday when we saw him,” said Coughlin, who will move Victor Cruz to the third receiver spot if Manningham cannot play. “We didn’t expect there would be any slowdown in his performance today. There was. So hopefully we can do the test again and see how that comes out. We are a little bit surprised that there is an issue.”
Time for the Minuteman to shine! Yea I know Manningham’s concussion is a blow to this offense, but I gotta say that I’m pretty excited about seeing Victor do his thing on national television Sunday night. With one of the greatest performances in preseason history, Victor looks like he’s ready to spark this so-far shitty offense. As for the season-ending injury for safety Michael Johnson – not that big of a loss. The dude has been getting beat downfield every play. I’m pretty sure we have a safety on the practice squad who could perform better than Johnson. Sunday @ 8:20pm – Giants vs. Bears. You better fuckn watch it.
