Imagine If You were Ken Morrow…

Given the 30th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice in 1980, let’s remember the amazing career of Ken Morrow. Ken was the starting defensemen on team USA in 1980, then immediately after winning the gold medal, signed with the New York Islanders. This means that in the span of four years, Morrow won an Olympic gold medal and four straight Stanley Cups. At the time, Morrow was the only player to have won a gold medal and a Stanley Cup in the same season. Does life get better than that?? Wow! Here’s an article from the Daily News on February 20 about Ken Morrow remembering his great years in the early 1980s.

  2. The one thing I remember about Ken Morrow’s career was in 1984 he scored an overtime goal against the Rangers which won the series for the Isles. He’s actually listed in a roster of ‘Ranger Killers’. Here is his listing: KEN MORROW Isles’ defensive stalwart haunted his Olympic coach Herb Brooks and Rangers with rare goal, an overtime killer in fifth and deciding game of 1984 playoffs.
Now that was a top 20 New York sports moment.
