Dansby to the Giants?
(New York Post): Karlos Dansby, the leading tackler and best linebacker on the upstart Cardinals team that nearly pulled off a big upset in Super Bowl XLIII, said yesterday he “wouldn’t mind playing in a huge market” when asked about possibly coming to the Giants. The free agency signing period begins on Feb. 27, and the Giants certainly have a need at outside linebacker. “Playing in New York? Who wouldn’t want to play in New York?” Dansby said on Sirius NFL Radio. “That’s just like playing for the Dallas Cowboys, you know what I’m saying? It’s a big market. You’re going to get an opportunity to be prime time. It’s a huge market. I wouldn’t mind playing in a huge market. I wouldn’t mind at all.”
Now this would change everything. This dude is an Antonio Pierce in his prime…but better. If the Gmen pick up Dansby, he could single-handedly change this defense. This would also allow the Giants to think more about a secondary player in the draft. All month, it was said that the Giants were thinking about a good linebacker for the 1st round. Now if the Giants pick up Dansby, they can focus on a stud safety. (Earl Thomas out of Texas would be nice to have) If I hear more about this rumor, I’ll let you guys know.
